So, this was the 'A' side of Kabuki's one & only release (the 'B' side will be with you next week) - the 'I Am A Horse'/'My Hair' 7" single, recorded in Apr 1982 at Outlaw Studios, Birmingham by Phil Savage. We put it out on our own Kabaret Nor label and pressed 1,000 copies. They flew out. Pretty rare now.

It features Kabuki's original line up of Matthew, Max, Cub, Trynytron, Jo & Wilz. 'Trynytron'? Yeah, our 'Mystery Man' & Zappa-lookalike drummer, Mick Davies. He, along with Wilz & Jo didn't make the transition to Ausgang the following year, but we DO know that Wilz (Mark Wilson) went on to front The Renegades & more recently, Wild Man Wilz. No idea what happened to Mick & Jo. We hope they're well.

So, we know by now that Kabuki was a pretty pretentious bunch - so it seemed only right that we should feature a song inspired by a poem by Jean Arp! It READS & SOUNDS like Max might've penned them - we just loved the surreal image of a horse traveling on a train with other passengers sucking milk from their mothers' breasts...(!)

Wilz painted the front cover. When we release the flip, 'My Hair', we'll show a pic of the interior of the gatefold sleeve.
