about
And here's the last Kabuki track (for now...) - the flip to our only official release, the 7" single, 'I Am A Horse'/'My Hair' - recorded by Phil Savage, Outlaw Studios, Birmingham, Apr 1982.
No prizes for guessing what it's about - but it's a little more than Max cockily banging on about his big hair. It's also a sly, jokey, self-deprecating comment on his own superficial adherence to the alt-scene around him & the scene itself. Well, that's what he told US anyway...
Features backing vox by Mark (Renegades, WildManWilz) Wilson & Jo.
Inner sleeve photography by Roy Appleby & Matthew.
lyrics
My Hair
Don't flatten my crown,
C'mon don't fool around,
You know what I'm like -
I'll sink thru the ground.
But when it's up,
I'm up, up, up.
I'll make them stare,
I'll make them turn around.
Now I feel good,
I'll rake thru the crowd.
"Hey, I like your hair!"
Yeah, I'll make them stare.
They're the little green monsters,
I'm conscious of that.
But the only thing about my hair is -
I can't wear a hat.

process of becoming a 'thing' and we got caught up in the whole exciting, sexy mess. To be honest, the early days were the best - playing songs about love, sex & the 'human' condition'.When we reformed in the 2000's, we had no idea of the legacy we'd left behind......more
