It's tempting to think that ALL of Kabuki/Ausgang's output was dark & depressing, but altho there's horror in 'Trapper Sam's subject matter, there's definitely a more 'upbeat' vibe here.

Our fave element of this track is Matthew's scorchingly funky guitar on that last verse! We also think it contains one of Max's best one-liners: "Washes away love’s gravest hits". Interestingly, it also contains the line "Sam has a vice-like grip" - and of course 'Vice-Like Grip' went on to become one of Ausgang's defining songs.

Ok, so what's it about? The grim reality of eeeeeevil hard drugs.Plain & simple. Just say 'no', kids!

Again, it's a 'live' demo from '82 recorded by Rob Bruce at Rich Bitch Studios, Birmingham. This MAY be the last Kabuki demo we release before we put up the one & only official Kabuki single & then get on to some early Ausgang takes. There ARE others, but we think we've chosen the best of the bunch. Unless, of course, you want to pay us eleventy pounds per track to hear them...?
